| "I tell you, Adele," said her best friend Daphne, "my cousin is a great guy. You'll have fun!"
"You say Horan is tall, strong, and handsome?" Adele asked again. "Yes, definitely tall and strong," replied Daphne, nodding. "And a real charmer." They stood outside the Great Room waiting for their dates. Other couples trotted up the steps into the brightly lit hall. Music floated from the windows. "There's Willem!" cried Daphne, clapping. "We'll wait with you for Horan. I'm sure he'll be here soon." The first boom made them jump. Another boom came, then another. The screaming started before the trees parted and a burly giant pushed his way to the hall. Daphne's royal blood made her stand unafraid to face him. The giant knelt, then brought a fist down to slam into the ground, just missing her. A flowering heather bush stuck out of it. "H-H-Horan?" asked Adele in a shaky voice. She felt faint. Daphne shrugged. "My father's side of the family," she whispered. |

| It's Your Story - So, how's this dance contest going to go? Can you write it?
Tell what happens at the dance? Do you think Horan will ruin the contest? Can you write an ending where Horan and Adele work together to win? And... where does a giant sit when he's not dancing? (Anywhere he wants to!) Have fun -- finish the story -- and be creative! And email me your ending. I'd love to see it! |
